Todd Gloria, the 37th mayor of the City of San Diego, is a proud third-generation San Diegan, an underrepresented minority, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community who actively advocates for social justice. Mayor Gloria began his career at the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency. Now, as mayor, Gloria is tackling significant issues such as affordable housing, homelessness, and climate change.

Dmitry-Lyumkis

Dmitry Lyumkis is an associate professor and the Hearst Foundations Developmental Chair at Salk. His lab uses cutting edge microscopy tools to observe the structure of proteins involved in HIV infection. His research helps connect protein structure and function to better explain specific proteins’ roles in infection and disease, and also uses these insights to develop novel therapeutics to treat HIV/AIDS.
