High School Science Day Registration
35th Annual High School Science Day at the Salk Institute
Saturday, February 28, 2026
9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
High School Science Day is a free event for high school students in Southern California. Each year, we host 150-250 students and 30-50 teachers and parent volunteers at the Salk Institute for a day of science talks, lab tours, and a career panel. Students and teachers will meet Salk scientists, learn about current research projects and the fundamental skills necessary for laboratory research.
Lunch is provided for all attendees.
Click here to learn more about this event and watch last year's keynote science talk.
The following form can be used by an individual student or by teachers registering for themselves and their students.
- All attendees must be 16 years or older to attend and must provide a signed and completed waiver.
- Individual adults registering without a student are reviewed on a case by case basis.
Capacity for the event is limited. Students and Teachers from Title 1 Schools are given priority; however, all schools and students are welcomed depending on availability. Each registrant will be contacted the first week of February to confirm the total number of students, parents and chaperones of each group that can be accommodated. This email will also include a release waiver that must be signed by each visitor, and will be collected upon entry. Please note: we will not be able to admit those without signed waivers.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Community & Engagement Coordinator Carlee Schulz at community@salk.edu. Thank you!
Registration deadline: Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
