Kim E. Witmer

Kim Witmer is sr. vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer, and assistant secretary for the Salk Institute. She oversees all financial activities of the Salk Institute including financial reporting and treasury functions, preparation of the annual budget, procurement, and endowment/investment management.

Prior to assuming the position of chief financial officer in 2001, Witmer served as the Institute's director of finance and business services (1994-2001), director of finance (1990-1994), and controller (1986-1990). Before coming to the Salk in 1986, Witmer worked for the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche.

She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in business administration from San Diego State University.
