LA JOLLA— Tickets are now on sale for the 30th annual Symphony at Salk, the Salk Institute’s premier fundraiser, taking place Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the Institute’s iconic oceanfront courtyard in La Jolla. This milestone year marks three decades of unforgettable music in support of discovery. Proceeds from the evening will support Salk’s mission to advance foundational science—the bold, curiosity-driven research that makes future breakthroughs possible.

Symphony at Salk is a concert under the stars that will feature the San Diego Symphony and special guest artists The Bacon Brothers, led by Emmy-winning composer Michael Bacon and acclaimed Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon. Set against the backdrop of Louis Kahn’s architectural masterpiece and the Pacific Ocean at sunset, the evening begins with a champagne reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by a gourmet dinner at 6:30 p.m., and the concert at 8:00 p.m.
The 2026 event will also highlight Salk’s Year of Brain Health, underscoring the Institute’s commitment to advancing research that helps us better understand how to maintain cognitive health throughout our lives.
“Symphony at Salk is one of our most cherished traditions because it brings together two forces that elevate the human spirit: music and discovery,” says Michelle Chamberlain, vice president of Advancement at the Salk Institute. “This milestone 30th anniversary is a celebration of the curiosity and imagination that drive progress, and of the philanthropic partners who help ensure Salk scientists can pursue the questions that will shape what comes next.”
Tickets, table sponsorships, and advertising opportunities are now available at symphony.salk.edu.
Table sponsors at the Galaxy level and above are invited to an exclusive Benefactors’ Dinner on Friday, August 14, the evening before Symphony at Salk. This year’s dinner will be hosted by Salk Board Chair Emeritus Dr. Irwin Jacobs, co-founder of Qualcomm, and will feature an intimate performance by The Bacon Brothers.
