LA JOLLA, CA\u2014The Salk Institute for Biological Studies announced the hiring of Anna-Marie Rooney as its Chief Communications Officer, to oversee all aspects of the world-renowned Institute’s communications efforts including strategy, print publications, media relations, electronic\/web communications, social media outreach, and multimedia resources.\n <\/p>\n

Anna-Marie Rooney\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nRooney most recently served as the Vice President\/Chief Strategy and Brand Officer for The San Diego Foundation<\/a>, the largest community foundation in the San Diego region. Over the course of six years, she created, organized, and implemented the marketing and communication strategies and tactics for the foundation, including the successful oversight and management of all promotional and public relations efforts for the Our Greater San Diego Vision<\/em> initiative, which resulted in 30,000 participants, $3.5 million in media exposure, and 386 million media impressions.\n <\/p>\n

\nPrior to coming to San Diego, Anna-Marie was the Senior Director of Marketing for the corporate office of KB HOME in Los Angeles, and before that, she served as the advertising and public relations manager for the global fashion retailer Guess, Inc.\n <\/p>\n

\nShe is a native of Denver, Colorado and earned her degree in Communications with an emphasis in Marketing and Public Speaking from the University of Denver.\n<\/p>\n
