Overview
Assessing the consequence of treatment on general health and behavioral performance improves the translation of animal models to human conditions. The Behavior Testing Core at the Salk Institute (BTC) provides a comprehensive resource for investigators interested in sensory, motor, and complex behavioral testing in mouse and rat models. BTC provides the equipment, trained staff and expert consultation for a wide range of standardized neurobehavioral tests. Users can request individual tests or customized batteries to assess multiple behavior domains. Training is provided to lab personnel for independent use of equipment, or full service testing can be provided by BTC staff. Data interpretation, analyses, and summaries are available at the end of testing for new or previously generated data.
