El Instituto Salk abrir\u00e1 sus puertas al p\u00fablico el s\u00e1bado 16 de abril para la cuarta edici\u00f3n anual Explora Salk<\/a>, la jornada de puertas abiertas anual a la comunidad del Instituto. Adem\u00e1s de recorridos guiados por laboratorios y stands de ciencia, el evento de este a\u00f1o presenta una charla del nuevo presidente de Salk, el premio Nobel Dra. Elizabeth Blackburn<\/a>, titulado \u201cNo te vendas barato\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

Las actividades familiares incluyen una Zona de Descubrimiento Infantil, un laboratorio cient\u00edfico m\u00f3vil con experimentos pr\u00e1cticos y un recorrido virtual por el laboratorio con sesi\u00f3n de preguntas y respuestas para preadolescentes interesados en seguir una carrera cient\u00edfica. Adem\u00e1s de un recorrido general por el laboratorio, hay un recorrido pr\u00e1ctico en grupos peque\u00f1os. Esta es una gran oportunidad para los visitantes que desean una experiencia m\u00e1s profunda y la posibilidad de hacer preguntas a los investigadores. Adem\u00e1s de la charla del Dr. Blackburn, el distinguido investigador de Salk Dr. Satchidananda Panda<\/a> dar\u00e1 una charla titulada \u201cUna vida saludable las 24 horas del d\u00eda: un clic a la vez\u201d. En su investigaci\u00f3n, el Dr. Panda explora los genes, mol\u00e9culas y c\u00e9lulas que mantienen al cuerpo sincronizado con el mismo reloj circadiano. Los eventos del d\u00eda tambi\u00e9n incluyen dos proyecciones del cortometraje de Robert Redford, Cathedrals of Culture, que presenta la arquitectura del Salk Institute.
