En dos estudios recientes publicados en <em>Naturaleza<\/em>, su equipo demostr\u00f3 que al bloquear una prote\u00edna que ayuda a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas a resistirse a un programa de autodestrucci\u00f3n llamado ferroptosis, o una prote\u00edna que debilita la inmunidad antitumoral, se reduce notablemente el c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n y de p\u00e1ncreas en ratones, lo que abre nuevas y prometedoras estrategias terap\u00e9uticas.<\/p>\n<p>Papagiannakopoulos obtuvo su licenciatura en Gen\u00e9tica Molecular en la Universidad de Sussex y su doctorado en Biolog\u00eda Molecular y Celular en la Universidad de California en Santa B\u00e1rbara. Realiz\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n posdoctoral en el MIT.
