When visiting our campus, please enter through the main gate on the East side and check in and pay the Conservation Fee ($7.50). These rules apply to all visitors, including guests of Salk employees. They are not exhaustive. The Salk Institute is private property and reserves the right to deny or revoke access to any individual whose actions are disruptive or in violation of these policies. Salk staff and security may require violators to leave the premises.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>News Media<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Journalists<\/strong> can arrange photo and video shoots with the Institute&#8217;s media relations team. For more information contact <a href=\"mailto:press@salk.edu\">press@salk.edu<\/a>. <strong>Non-journalists<\/strong> should email <a href=\"mailto:communications@salk.edu\">communications@salk.edu.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top: 40px;\">Commercial Photography<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">Professional and commercial photography is <strong>strictly prohibited<\/strong> unless pre-approved and staffed by Salk&#8217;s Communications team. This includes, but is not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0;\">\n<li>Brand photo and video shoots<\/li>\n<li>Documentaries<\/li>\n<li>Photography intended for gallery exhibition or sale<\/li>\n<li>Portrait photography, including wedding, engagement, graduation, family photos, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Portfolio photography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Questions may be directed to: <a href=\"mailto:communications@salk.edu\">communications@salk.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top: 40px;\">Recreational Photography and Videography<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">Recreational photography and videography are <strong>permitted<\/strong> under the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0;\">\n<li>Allowed only during docent-led tours<\/li>\n<li>Limited to one handheld camera for personal use<\/li>\n<li>Tour groups may not be delayed or interrupted for extensive photography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">The following are <strong>strictly prohibited<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0;\">\n<li>Props, costumes, or special lighting equipment (including off-camera flashes)<\/li>\n<li>Formal and commissioned photography or videography (e.g., wedding, engagement, graduation, family portraits, model portfolios, student projects)<\/li>\n<li>Drone use<\/li>\n<li>Selfie sticks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top: 40px;\">Contact Information<\/h2>\n<p>For further information, please call <strong>(858) 453-4100 x1371<\/strong> or email <a href=\"mailto:communications@salk.edu\"><strong>communications@salk.edu<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>Legal Disclaimer<\/h2>\n<p>All photographs and video recordings taken on the Salk Institute premises are for personal, noncommercial use only.
