Each year, we host 150-250 students and 30-50 teachers and parent volunteers at Salk Institute for all day science talks, lab tours, and a career panel. Students and teachers will meet Salk scientists, learn about current cutting-edge research projects and the fundamental skills necessary for laboratory research.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn -expand\" href=\"https:\/\/www.salk.edu\/de\/about\/education-outreach\/programs\/high-school-science-day\/\">MEHR ERFAHREN<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This program is generously supported by the Anne and Neal Blue High School Science Fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>HEITHOFF-BRODY HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOLARS<\/h2>\n<p><!-- Interviews will take place throughout the entire month of May. All students will receive an email letting them know of their application status by the beginning of June. We had a high number of applications this year, so we thank you for your patience as we continue the process of matching up students with a mentor for this program. \n<strong>The 2025 Heithoff-Brody High School Summer Scholars Program application will open in December 6, 2024 and <span style=\"white-space: nowrap;\">close March 28, 2025.<\/span><\/strong> --><\/p>\n<p><!-- Every summer, the Salk Institute accepts a group of high school students to work in a lab side-by-side with Salk scientists on cutting-edge research. During the 8-week paid internship students will work in the lab with their mentor while also being expected to participate in seminars, workshops, biotech site visits, and other enrichment activities. At the end of the program, students present their research projects to their mentors, lab peers and families. --><\/p>\n<p>Each summer, a select group of high school students is invited to join the Salk Institute\u2019s renowned research community for an 8-week paid internship\u2014a transformative experience designed to ignite curiosity and build real-world skills.<\/p>\n<p>Interns work side-by-side with Salk scientists on groundbreaking research projects, gaining hands-on lab experience under the guidance of expert mentors. Beyond the lab, students participate in dynamic seminars, career-building workshops, biotech industry site visits, and other enrichment activities that broaden their scientific horizons.<\/p>\n<p>The program culminates in a celebratory research symposium, where students present their findings to mentors, lab teams, and proud families<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility: Open to students 16 years and older who live and attend school in San Diego County.<\/p>\n<p><!-- The 2025 Heithoff-Brody Scholars Program will run from June 16 to August 8, 2025.
