Mithilfe einer Kombination von Techniken m\u00f6chte sie die besten Wege identifizieren, um die von Krebszellen genutzten Recyclingwege zu adressieren. Ihre Forschung k\u00f6nnte zur Entwicklung neuer Krebstherapien f\u00fchren, die die Behandlungsergebnisse und das \u00dcberleben von Patienten verbessern.<\/p>\n<p>Als Pew-Stewart-Stipendiatin wird Towers das Verst\u00e4ndnis von Wissenschaftlern f\u00fcr Autophagie und die Anpassung von Krebszellen, wenn dieser Signalweg blockiert wird, vertiefen. Sie wird untersuchen, ob diese Zellen durch angeborene, bereits vorhandene Mechanismen \u00fcberlebensf\u00e4hig sind oder ob sie diese Eigenschaft als Reaktion auf Umweltreize entwickeln.
