Albright<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.salk.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2107-Tom-Albright.jpg\">Klicken Sie hier<\/a> f\u00fcr ein hochaufl\u00f6sendes Bild.<\/p>\n<p>\nBild: Mit freundlicher Genehmigung des Salk Institute for Biological Studies\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\nAlbright is among six appointees tasked with developing policy recommendations for the Attorney General to enhance the practice and improve the reliability of forensic science.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cFor nearly two years, the commission has been hard at work developing recommendations to strengthen the field of forensic science and the six new commissioners will bring valuable new insights to this process,\u201d said Deputy Attorney General Sally Quillian Yates, co-chair of the commission, in a statement on the U.S. Department of Justice website. \u201cTheir work is vital to ensuring the fairness of our criminal justice system.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice.gov\/ncfs\" target=\"_blank\">National Commission on Forensic Science<\/a> was established in 2013 and meets four times a year in Washington, D.C. It includes federal, state and local forensic science providers, research scientists and academics, law enforcement officials, prosecutors, defense attorneys and judges.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAlbright was selected for the commission for his expertise on how the brain processes vision and stores memories. Last year, he co-chaired a National Academy of Science committee that released a milestone report outlining the unreliability of eyewitness testimony in criminal investigations and trials.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAlbright directs the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcl.salk.edu\/\">Vision Center Laboratory<\/a> at the Salk Institute and focuses on exploring mechanics of visual information processing in the brain.
