Trumpeter Chris Botti and jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli will join the acclaimed San Diego Symphony, led by distinguished conductor Maestro Thomas Wilkins.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe performances at Symphony at Salk never disappoint, and this year should be no exception. The expressive sound of trumpeter Chris Botti is sure to impress. Since the release of his critically acclaimed CD, <em>When I Fall In Love<\/em>, Botti has become the highest-selling American instrumental artist. His latest album, <em>Impressions<\/em>, won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2013.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nJazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli has been hailed by <em>The Boston Globe<\/em> for \u201creinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.\u201d Described as \u201cmadly creative\u201d by the <em>Los Angeles Times<\/em>, Pizzarelli draws his inspiration from such performers as Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTickets, which include a champagne reception, gourmet dinner and the concert, cost $300 each and are on sale now. The evening begins with a champagne reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by supper at 6:30 p.m. and the concert at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salk.edu\/de\/symphony\/\">www.salk.edu\/symphony<\/a>. For information, call (858) 597-0657.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAll proceeds from the 20th Annual Symphony at Salk support the Institute\u2019s wide-ranging scientific inquiries that have yielded a steady flow of life-changing discoveries, having a direct impact on areas as diverse as cancer, Alzheimer\u2019s, Parkinson\u2019s, metabolic diseases, ALS, schizophrenia, autism, spinal cord injuries, crop yields and world hunger.
