Open letter from Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, President of the Salk Institute
Dear Colleagues and Friends:
Over the last few weeks, I have heard from and had the opportunity to speak with many in the Salk family as well as those in the scientific community at large about a number of issues, including the recent lawsuits filed against the Institute. I want to thank you for your insights and input and, especially, for your support.
I also want to address directly and correct any unintended impressions from prior statements related to the litigation. The Salk greatly values the contributions of Professors Emerson, Jones, and Lundblad to the scientific community and to the Institute. These Professors are our colleagues and members of the Salk community we all cherish. Indeed, the Institute greatly values all of your contributions to the progression of science.
It is my hope that we will all remain dedicated to and focused on our important mission. Thank you all again for being a part of our life-changing work.
