Wahl Lab - Personnel
|Geoffrey M. Wahl, Ph.D. In 1970, Dr. Wahl was awarded his B.A. in Bacteriology from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1976, he received a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from Harvard University. He was a Research Assistant at the University of Utah from 1975 to 1976 and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University from 1976 to 1979. He then joined the Salk Institute as an Assistant Professor in the Molecular Biology and Virology Laboratory. Dr. Wahl received his present appointment as Professor in the Gene Expression Laboratory in 1989. |Yao-Cheng (Leo) Li, Ph.D. graduated with a B. S. in Plant Pathology, 1992 from National Chung-Hsing University and a M.S. in Biochemistry, 1994 from the National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan. He graduated in 2002 with a Ph.D. in Pharmaclogy from the State University of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey. Leo joined the Wahl Lab in 2003.
Yao-Cheng (Leo) Li CV
Miranda Cox, Ph.D. Graduated with a B.Sc. Hons in Biological Science from the University of Exeter in 2007 and with a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from the University of Dundee in 2011. She will be focusing on the p53 tumour suppressor pathway, its role in disease and its potential for exploitation in cancer therapy. Miranda joined the Wahl Lab in 2011.
Chris Dravis, Ph.D. obtained a B.A. in 2001 in Biology and Chemistry from University of Pennsylvania. In 2009, He received a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Chris joined the Wahl Lab in 2012.

|Benjamin T. Spike, Ph.D. carried out his undergraduate studies in Southern California and in Goettingen, Germany, receiving his Bachelor’s degrees in European History and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego in 1997. He went on to receive his M.S. in Biology under the mentorship of Dr. Wahl in 1998. And after earning a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Chicago in the summer of 2007, Ben returned to the Wahl Lab.

Christy Trejo, Ph.D. received her B.Sc. in Cell and Developmental Biology in 2005 from UC Irvine and her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from UC San Francisco in 2012. She joined the Wahl lab in Fall 2012.
Technicians and Assistants
