Postdocs Receive $335K in Fellowship Awards

Ten postdoctoral fellows at the Salk Institute have been awarded a total of $335,000 in support of their research in fields ranging from neurobiology, and molecular and cell biology.

The Pioneer Postdoctoral Endowment Fund provided eight researchers from as many laboratories with $32,500 each in January. Longtime Salk supporter Helen McLoraine established the fund in the early 1990s to support the Pioneer Scholar Awards. It was the first postdoctoral fellowship endowment at the Institute.

The Catharina Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Program provided two awards of $37,500 each. Established in 1997, the program supports European postdoctoral scientists at Salk.
