| Chairs: |
Melanie Cobb (Department of Pharmacology, UTSMC)
Carl-Henrik Heldin (Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Uppsala)
Cliff Lowell (Department of Laboratory Medicine, UCSF)

Scientists studying all aspects of protein phosphorylation and cell signaling are encouraged to submit abstracts. The abstract deadline is July 18, 2008.
Topics to be covered include:
Transmembrane signaling mechanisms and networks
Structural basis of signal transduction
Signaling in hematopoietic cells and the nervous system
Regulation of protein:protein interactions
Spatial regulation of signaling
The role of lipids in signaling
Signaling pathways in vertebrate and invertebrate model organisms
Protein phosphatases
Adhesion and cell motility
Regulation of protein degradation by phosphorylation
Checkpoint and stress signaling
Phosphoproteomics
Translational applications of signal transduction inhibitors
The eight oral sessions will consist of introductory talks by the Session Chairs followed by short talks presented by speakers selected by the organizers from those who submitted abstracts. This is an excellent opportunity for postdocs and students to present their work and they are encouraged to submit abstracts. All abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be presented in the two poster sessions.
