SalkFEST
SalkFEST Perhaps the most visible SRF event, SalkFEST is a monthly "happy hour" held on the second Friday of the month in the courtyard during nice weather, and in the Foyer during the winter. Attendance is open only to the Salk community, and it is a great chance for some informal social interaction. SalkFEST also helps introduce the new members of our community.
The Salk Holiday Food Drive
SRF in conjunction with the San Diego Food Bank sponsored a food drive before the holidays in November 2008 and 2009, to benefit the many needy families throughout the city. Once again the Salk community demonstrated their generosity, as we surpassed our goal and collected 2225 pounds of food, enough to feed over 1700 people! Many thanks to all who participated, and we look forward to doing this again next year.
